    Yen Tu, Buddhist capital of Vietnam, is 1 hour drive from Halong city  and a famous place for its beautiful landscapes, historical relics and ancient pagodas thus making it uniquely positioned in the hearts of the Vietnamese.

    At an altitude of 1, 068m above sea level, the breathless climb leads one higher and higher till you find yourself at the top in the pristine of white cloud surroundings. The journey seems to gives one the feeling of a stairway to heavens - away from worries of the world, a peace of mind and heart. It is also the place with the biggest Zen Monastery in Vietnam.

    Yen Duc village is in Dong Trieu town and 1 hour plus driving West of Halong city. The village was recognized as a national relic in 1993.

    Yen Duc is a beautiful village with poetic scenery, charming rivers, historical mountains and sacred legends and relics related to Ly and Tran dynasty. The village was a cradle of revolutionary movements with many brave, ingenious heroes and local people sacrificed to protect their hometown.

    This specific tour is with a Local guide in Halong city. However, if you would like to travel with a more professional guide, we can arrange a Tour Guide from Hanoi with an extra cost!

     

    ITINERARY

    8:00: Start the tour from Halong City Hotel/Cruise Harbor gate. Move for Yen Tu pagoda

    9:15: Visit Zen Monastery and study about local Buddism

    10:30: Take cable car to visit the Hoa Yen pagoda

    12:30: Have lunch in a local restaurant

    13:30: Move to Yen Duc Rural village, visit Ceramic workshops of locals on route.

    15:00: Visit Yen Duc village with its historical monument, Canh Huong Pagoda, Local houses and walk around the village with its special rural character of Vietnam. 

    16:45: End of the trip, start to drive back to Halong City

    18:00: Finish the tour at Halong City hotel/Cruise harbor gate.

      We had a great day touring with Mr Ha. We visited a lovely Zen Temple, had a great lunch and then toured a small charming village where we were invited into a home and served tea and refreshments. It was a wonderful day and Mr Ha was a great guide--very knowledgeable and cordial.

      Fantastic tour in Halong City area!

      Windy arranged for Mr Ha to take us around Holong and to the monastery. We appreciated the sites and history he was able to give us. He was good company The driver was good also.
